This Roar of Applause goes to Christine Bowen! She is our process coordinator at Kirksville Primary School. Process coordinators are the middle people between students, staff, guardians, and administration. They help ensure that special education services are tailored to meet each student’s needs and are implemented accurately and effectively. Thank you, Mrs. Bowen, for your support! Join us in congratulating her on this "ROAR!" 🎉🐅 #kvtigers #kvproud #welovekirksville

🎉 Today is the perfect day to show some love to our amazing principals! October is National Principals Month, and two of our six principals are celebrating their annual cake days today! 🎂
Being a school principal can be both tough and rewarding. Today we want to make space to thank our building leaders. Also, happy birthday to Mrs. Marshall and Mr. Best!

Monday Momentum for October 28, 2024
Crews will break ground this week on a new asphalt parking lot on campus, located west of the middle and high schools. This project is the first in a series funded by the bond approved by voters in April of this year. The new lot will replace parking spots displaced by the upcoming construction of the new performing arts center.
Dirt work and asphalt paving will take place within the construction fence set up earlier this fall. While some trees will need to be removed during construction, new trees will be planted as part of the completed parking lot.
The goal for completing the parking lot is December 2024. J.T. Holman of Macon is the general contractor for this project.

There has been a fire in the apartment complex to the east of Ray Miller Elementary. Ray Miller has not been affected by the fire and the fire department is actively controlling the situation. We are keeping Ray Miller students inside for recess. We are working to make sure that students who live in the complex or who take the walking trail have a dismissal plan before the end of the day. Traffic at the east end of Normal Street is blocked and this may impact parent pickup at Ray Miller. We will keep you posted closer to dismissal time.

Our Digital Design and Graphic Arts students at Kirksville Area Technical Center designed, printed, and installed the graphics for the golf cart used by our Work Experience Program. It looks great, Mrs. Scheurer and students! Thank you for your expertise. Love that you added your class logo, too.

As we prepare to begin a new week of school we want to express our gratitude for the response of our teachers, staff, administration, students, community, Officer Harden, and all of the Kirksville Police Department in light of the social media threats at the end of last week. We continue to value the ongoing communication and take all reports seriously.
