Package 1--includes early sitework and the new parking lot. These are currently seen in progress. Package 2--construction of new performing arts building. Package 3--includes high school remodel, tech center connector, and Ray Miller renovations. BRS architects continue to develop plans for the new performing arts building. Included here are design images for the lobby of the new building.

December 2, 2024. Monday Momentum. Progress. Perform. Protect. Page 1.  New this week...J.T. Holman of Macon continues to make progress preparing the ground for the new parking lot along Cottage Grove. Storm drainage tiling and systems will be put into place this week. The existing parking lot between the middle and high schools will be partly closed for a few days. Middle school parent drop-off and pick-up, plus staff parking, will be impacted. Parents can use one of two methods for dropping off and picking up their middle schoolers this week. Anticipated completion of the tiling is within 2-3 days.

New this week...KVR-3 has been working with utility providers on plans to relocate utility lines that run between the high school and the tech center, in preparation for construction and future growth. The location of the hallway connecting KATC and KHS has been determined. Architects continue to develop the design for the connector. Construction to begin in the summer of ‘25. Connector hallway will provide protection for students as they pass between the two buildings. It will reduce outsider access to the buildings during passing periods.

November 18, 2024. Monday Momentum. Progress. Perform. Protect. Page 1.  New this week...BRS architects continue to develop plans for the Kirksville High School remodel project. Included here are design images for the updated KHS interior commons area. Entry through the new main entrance and secure vestibule will lead to doors providing access to either the KHS office or the commons. Goal for completion is summer of 2026. Enclosing the commons area provides more space for year-round usage. Allows more students to eat per café shift. Grants space for high-ceiling all-weather cheer practice.

The entrance will provide increased visibility of people entering the building. The entrance will include a safety vestibule and visitor window connected to the main office.  Entrance will replace existing open entrance into the courtyard. KHS construction project is projected to begin in the summer of 2025.   Goal for completing the high school project is summer of 2026.
