October is National Principals Month and we are taking time to appreciate all of our building principals and assistant principals here at Kirksville R-III. Today we spotlight Dr. Brandi VanDelft at WMMS!
When asked if she ever had to go to the principal's office while she was a student, Dr. VanDelft said this, "I was caught in the middle of passing a letter from a friend to another friend during class. We didn't have cell phones back then so letters folded the "cool" way was the best option. Each of us had to write an essay about the Nile River before being allowed to attend the fall dance. It was an excellent essay and we danced to some of the best songs from 2000. I learned not to pass notes again!"
It sounds like her version of the Roman Empire trend on TikTok is probably the Nile. Do you ever think about the Nile River, Dr. VanDelft? Thank you for everything you do as an educational leader for our students, staff, and community! #kvproud #kvtigers #welovekirksville

October is National Principals Month and we are taking time to appreciate all of our building principals and assistant principals here at Kirksville R-III. Today we spotlight Mrs. Amee Jones at RME!
We asked her if she ever had to go to the principal's office as a student herself. Mrs. Jones replied, "Only one time, and it definitely wasn't my fault!"
That sounds like a really good hook for a writing piece that your RME students would love to hear, or even help you write, Mrs. Jones! Thank you for everything you do as an educational leader for our students, staff, and community! #kvproud #kvtigers #welovekirksville

October is National Principals Month and we want to take time to appreciate all of our building principals and assistant principals here at Kirksville R-III. Today we spotlight Mr. Christopher Best at KHS!
We asked him if he ever had to go to the principal's office as a student himself. Mr. Best replied, "Of course I was sent to the principal's office! He just liked to check in with me to tell me what an asset I was to the school and how much he appreciated me as a student and person. Basically he just liked to give me a daily congratulations on being the world's only trouble-free teenager...or at least that's how I remember it."
Sure, we buy that! Thank you, Mr. Best, for everything you do as an educational leader for our students, staff, and community! #kvproud #kvtigers #welovekirksville

Ms. Laryn Pinkston's preschool class is happy to announce that recently their caterpillars fully transformed into butterflies! The children observed the caterpillars eat, grow, form their chrysalises, and finally, emerge in all their beauty. They went outside together to release and give them a proper send off. Notice Ms. Pinkston modeling butterfly body parts and check out the excitement on her students' faces. Keep on discovering our world together, preschoolers and Ms. Pinkston! #kveclc #kvtigers #welovekirksville
