October is National Principals Month and we are taking time to appreciate all of our building principals and assistant principals here at Kirksville R-III. Today we spotlight Mrs. Diana Johnson at KPS! Mrs. Johnson, when asked if she ever had to go to the principal's office as a student, replied, "Absolutely not. I am an avid rule follower!" We are proud of you for that Mrs. Johnson; but more importantly we are proud of you for everything you do as an educational leader for our students, staff, and community! Thank you! #kvproud #kvtigers #welovekirksville

October is National Principals Month and we are taking time to appreciate all of our building principals and assistant principals here in Kirksville R-III. Today we spotlight Mr. Jesse Wolf at KATC! Mr. Wolf told us, when asked about going to the principal's office as a student, "Let's just say it was a huge surprise to some of my former teachers, whom I have since apologized, that I decided to get into education. I was not the model student." We like that honesty. It sounds like Mr. Wolf has found his passion and his favorite role within our district. When asked of his favorite thing about Kirksville R-III, he gave us this answer: "In my specific position, I am blessed with the opportunity to connect state-of-the-art equipment and resources to some of our blue-collar professions. Kirksville R-III and the school board have never wavered from purchasing the tools necessary to prepare our students for whatever their future may entail. I have seen students from almost all of our programs go to college or directly into their specific trades, and not only become successful, but very quickly be placed in leadership roles. These are accomplishments that they most likely didn't think were possible, at one time. As with most educators, my reward lies in the success of our students and some of the amazing opportunities put before them by our instructors and the Kirksville R-III School District." Mr. Wolf, thank you for everything you do as an educational leader for our students, staff, and community! #kvproud #kvtigers #welovekirksville

We are having a double-your-celebration day. Both our "Roar of Applause" and our spotlight administrator for National Principals Month are the same person! Today we appreciate Ms. Melissa Klocke our director at the Early Childhood Learning Center! Ms. Klocke told us that while she was a student, "I was always in trouble for talking too much, but I was never sent to the principal's office." We can believe her on that! The "Roar of Applause" submitted by one of her staff members, reminds us that Ms. Klocke, "is an amazing leader." We all know this is true, for sure! Ms. Klocke, thank you for everything you do as an educational leader for our students, staff, and community! Join us in congratulating her on this "Roar of Applause" 🎉🐅 #kvproud #kvtigers #welovekirksville

October is National Principals Month and we are taking time to appreciate all of our building principals and assistant principals here at Kirksville R-III. Today we spotlight Dr. Brandi VanDelft at WMMS! When asked if she ever had to go to the principal's office while she was a student, Dr. VanDelft said this, "I was caught in the middle of passing a letter from a friend to another friend during class. We didn't have cell phones back then so letters folded the "cool" way was the best option. Each of us had to write an essay about the Nile River before being allowed to attend the fall dance. It was an excellent essay and we danced to some of the best songs from 2000. I learned not to pass notes again!" It sounds like her version of the Roman Empire trend on TikTok is probably the Nile. Do you ever think about the Nile River, Dr. VanDelft? Thank you for everything you do as an educational leader for our students, staff, and community! #kvproud #kvtigers #welovekirksville

October is National Principals Month and we are taking time to appreciate all of our building principals and assistant principals here at Kirksville R-III. Today we spotlight Mrs. Amee Jones at RME! We asked her if she ever had to go to the principal's office as a student herself. Mrs. Jones replied, "Only one time, and it definitely wasn't my fault!" That sounds like a really good hook for a writing piece that your RME students would love to hear, or even help you write, Mrs. Jones! Thank you for everything you do as an educational leader for our students, staff, and community! #kvproud #kvtigers #welovekirksville

October is National Principals Month and we want to take time to appreciate all of our building principals and assistant principals here at Kirksville R-III. Today we spotlight Mr. Christopher Best at KHS! We asked him if he ever had to go to the principal's office as a student himself. Mr. Best replied, "Of course I was sent to the principal's office! He just liked to check in with me to tell me what an asset I was to the school and how much he appreciated me as a student and person. Basically he just liked to give me a daily congratulations on being the world's only trouble-free teenager...or at least that's how I remember it." Sure, we buy that! Thank you, Mr. Best, for everything you do as an educational leader for our students, staff, and community! #kvproud #kvtigers #welovekirksville

Ms. Laryn Pinkston's preschool class is happy to announce that recently their caterpillars fully transformed into butterflies! The children observed the caterpillars eat, grow, form their chrysalises, and finally, emerge in all their beauty. They went outside together to release and give them a proper send off. Notice Ms. Pinkston modeling butterfly body parts and check out the excitement on her students' faces. Keep on discovering our world together, preschoolers and Ms. Pinkston! #kveclc #kvtigers #welovekirksville
